Yahoo Buys Vizify, Firm That Visualizes Social-Media Data

Yahoo buys another company, this time a startup that lets people create infographics and videos out of social data.


Vizify, a startup that lets users create visualizations of social-media data, announced on Wednesday that it has been acquired by Yahoo. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The company's technology lets people create interactive infographics and videos based on data involving what they share online, creating a type of Internet biography. Premium customers could pay to have their biographies hosted from vanity domains.
Vizify will be shutting down the product as the team joins Yahoo. "As for what's next, we can't talk specifics just yet, but we're excited to bring a more visual approach to data at Yahoo," the company wrote.
